This is the fourth quest in The Catacombs series. In this quest, you must find Gerard Dryden's sarcophogus, which is in the center of the zone. There are a lot of skeletons in this zone. Approximately, 18 billion, give or take a dozen. Each sarcophogus along the wall with have a skeleton in it, and most rooms you walk into will have most of the skeletons automatically pop out. Turn undead works great, but the Ancestors are immune to turn undead. There are the occasionally oozes, just to make sure your equipment doesn't go unworn.

You start at the Entrance (marker #1). Make your way to the First Gate Room (marker #2). In this room you will find the switch that will open the gate to the north so that you can continue to the Second Gate Room (marker #3). Again, the switch will open the gate to the west so that you can continue to the Third Gate Room (marker #4). Which will have the switch needed to open the gate to the south so that you can continue to the Key Chest (marker #5).

This chest holds the master key that you will need so that you can open the doors to the inner rooms. The switch to the south of the Key Chest requires a high STR to open. After recieving the key, open the door to the West Switch Room (marker #6) so that you can use the switch inside it. This switch, combined with the switches from the other two inner switch rooms will open the gates that bar you from entering the center room. Therefore, proceed back north to the North Switch Room (marker #7).

Use that switch and continue east and south to the South Switch Room (marker #8). Along the way there, you will notice that the east inner room isn't opened by the master key, but is only openable by a rogue. The chest inside has a chance of dropping a heavy mace that has undead bane. After throwing the switch in the South Switch Room, head to the center room around the Sarcophogus, read the inscription and complete the quest.

Once you have completed the quest, head back out to the Catacombs and all the way up to the Archbishops room where you will recieve a list of loot between normal and +1 with no diplomacy. After recieving the loot, talk to him again to recieve the next quest in the series, Setting the Wards: The Lower Cathedral.
