Quench the Flames
This is the fifth quest in the Cult of the Six series. Bring some fire protection as fire resist isn't enough in this quest. You will encounter a lot of mephits and those mephits spawn smaller mephits. Also bring a very good rogue as the traps in this zone are extremely deadly.
You start at the Entrance (marker #1). Head slightly south and start clearing the wandering mephits around the circle that surrounds the shrine. Then move west to the first Summoning Fire (marker #2).
Before you reach Summoning Fire 1, you will meet a very mean slash trap. If you don't have a rogue, or your rogue doesn't have enough skill to disarm the trap, you will need to get your Jump skill and reflex saves up with buffs before trying to get through. Jump skill is determined by Strength and is decreased with armor penalties from armor. Reflex saves are determined by your Dexterity. While running through the trap area, continuously jump. You may be able to miss one of the slashes and mitigate some of the serious damage it can inflict. Even if you have the hitpoints to survive the slashes, your cleric may let you die later because you didn't even try to not get hit.
Each Summoning Fire spawns several mephits and has a decent amount of hitpoints that need to be meleed down. The only other option is to use Phantasmal Killer on the Summoning Fire which will instantly kill it. A high level sorcerer or wizard can have the spell. The most effective way to avoid damage and quickly complete the quest is to "PK" each Summoning Fire instead of engaging the mephits.
Head back east and rest at the shrine if you need. As you head east toward the Dual Summoning Fires (marker #3), you will encounter a very large fire trap. If your rogue cannot disarm this trap, you will need Fire Protection instead of Fire Resistance as the fire damage reduction of Fire Resistance isn't enough. You will be hit by no less than six fire blasts simultaneously.
When you arrive at the Dual Summoning Fires, you will notice there is one to the north and one to the south. They are close enough together that the mephits from each fire will aggro and attack. Fight them off and take care of both Summoning Fires. As you continue east toward the Lava Summoning Fire, you will encounter two cultists that cast Flame Strike. Kill them and look to the south to find a chest. Once you open the chest, all the lava around the chest will immediately erupt, so be careful.
The best way to get rid of the Lava Summoning Fire (marker #4) is to "PK" it from across the lava since it's too far for the mephits to aggro.
Once you have destroyed all four Summoning Fires, finish out and head back to Hragg to advance the series to the final step.
