Yarkuch's Last Stand
This is the final quest in the quest series commonly known as Tangleroot. In this one you finally get to kill the main leader of the Splinterskull Clan, Chief Yarkuch. Yay!
Of course, you have to fight through the Outer Splinterskull Fortress to get to the Inner Splinterskull Fortress... again. Just do the same thing you have been doing.
You start at the Entrance (marker #1), and make your way north and west to just outside Krug's room. Inside the room is an ogre named Krug that will drop one of the two keys need to open the door to the north. Take note that this isn't a simple room, around the top ledges of the room is a lot of hobgoblin clerics that love their seering light spells. The easiest way to kill Krug is to aggro something inside the room, run outside the door, and hide behind the door so that no ranged attacks can hit you. Krug will aggro and try shooting arrows at you, but will keep shooting the wall until he gives up and comes running out to the door. Some of the other melee-only monsters will come before him, but they will bottleneck in the door making them easy targets. When Krug dies, he will drop his key on the ground.
After you skillfully pulled that off, go west to Naarl (marker #3) and do his fight exactly like Krug's. Collect his key, open the door to the north, and have the rogue disable the spinning spike trap in your way. There is a nicely placed shrine before the Chief's room.
There are plenty of monsters in Chief Yarkuch's room, and the only thing that makes groups wipe out is when the group spreads out all over the room where the healers cannot see you or heal you because you are too far away; keep your group together. After you kill the Chief, there are two hidden doors to either side of his room each with a trap and a chest in them.
Finish out and head back to Chief Ungurz to complete the quest series and pick your reward from a static list of loot.
